QPR Software Plc acquires Nobultec Ltd
QPR Software Plc acquires its co-operation partner Nobultec Ltd and purchases 100 % of its shares. The transaction will take place on 1 August, 2011 and after that Nobultec becomes QPR's 100% owned subsidiary.
The transaction won't have any impact on the customer relationships Nobultec has. On the contrary, joining QPR Software further enhances Nobultec's process improvement capabilities and services. In addition, Nobultec's customers gain access to QPR's process development knowhow gathered and tested in the international markets as well as to the related and internationally recognized software products.
Nobultec moved into new office

Two SAP-experts joined Nobultec
Nobultec welcomes two new SAP-experts Sami Komppa and Timo Lahtinen. They have been appointed as process consultants at Nobultec from November 1, 2010. Both strengthen Nobultec's expertise in user interfaces and bring in new XI/PI know-how.

Nobultec at SAP Finug technology seminar on September 23-24

Nobultec partners with SAP Finland
Nobultec has reinforced its cooperation with SAP Finland by entering into a Community level partnership. The partner contract between Nobultec and SAP Finland will shift our cooperation into a new level. Along with the partnership, new opportunities will be opened to Nobultec in shaping the market for SAP enabled solutions, training and product development.

Nobultec at SAP Finug fall seminar 28.10.2009

Nobultec, together with four other Finnish digital business service and product provider companies, has been chosen to the growth program of Culminatum Ltd. "The growth program gives us even better possibilities e.g. to develop our services in a customer centric way", Mikko Mäki-Rahkola, the managing director of Nobultec comments.
Nobultec started certification of SAP specialists
Nobultec has begun certifying its experts in the SAP technologies used by the company. Our first specialists obtaining certifications are Karri Kemppi (Development Associate - ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0) and Mikko Mäki-Rahkola (Development Consultant SAP NetWeaver 2004s - NetWeaver Portal). We will continue certifying our employees in our key business areas.
Nobultec turns talent into expertise
There is an acute shortage of technical SAP specialists, and as a growing company, also Nobultec has faced this challenge. We have tackled the problem by training our SAP consultants ourselves. This approach has required considerable investment in terms of both time and money. Nevertheless, it has been the best and only way to ensure that we have skilled technical consultants who are able to do things right the first time. Our systematic and process-oriented way of working allows us to set our goals extremely high as we transform talented people into true experts.
Our junior consultants spend their first months at Nobultec studying intensively and familiarizing themselves with Nobultec%u2019s demo SAP system. After this, they get to participate in real customer projects, and after about six months, they will be working independently, with the continuous support of senior colleagues. Thorough training pays for itself: consultants trained at Nobultec for a year are better at their job than many people who have worked in the SAP world for much longer.
Following their recruitment in September 2008, our new employees Janne, Jussi and Tuomo went through an intensive training period that lasted the rest of the year. This allowed them to participate fully in customer work as of the beginning of 2009. We are very proud of their rapid progress!
Nobultec Relocated to Innopoli
Nobultec moved to Technopolis Innopoli in Espoo in late winter 2009. Tekes to finance the development of Nobultec Process Care
The development of Nobultec's Process Care service is progressing well. Process Care is a service that enables our customers to easily measure and understand the efficiency of their business processes. This in turn enables the systematic development of processes that translates directly into improved profitability. Due to the advanced features of the Process Care service, its commercialization and the development of the service platform require a great deal of in-house product development. We received additional energy for the development work when Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, decided to grant funding for the development of Process Care in June 2009. We are happy about the faith Tekes has shown in our vision of systematic process development.
Nobultec Customer Seminar: How to Improve HR Processes
HR process improvement can benefit greatly by tapping into the power of new technologies provided by SAP. To highlight these benefits, Nobultec organized a customer seminar focusing on how to improve HR-processes. This event was realized in cooperation with SAP Finland and Aditro HRM and it took place at Scandic Hotel Simonkenttä May 26, 2009.
In the course of this seminar, HR process improvement was approached from three different perspectives. First, Aditro HRM introduced the current needs and typical development targets of HR. Second, SAP introduced some of their technical solutions that can be used to support HR-processes. Finally, Nobultec concluded the event with a presentation going over some of the methods with which to combine the aforementioned needs and technologies in the best possible way. As an example of issues covered, we would like to emphasize one of the currently rising trends in the field of HR: self-service solutions. Self-service applications facilitate streamlining common HR processes, consequently enabling corporations to reap the benefits in the form of lower operating costs and faster process execution times.

The Improving Business Efficiency by Using the Forms Solutions Offered by SAP course, developed for SAP by Nobultec, was held as planned on June 3, 2008. The course was a success. Encouraged by the outstanding positive feedback received from the participants, the next course is already planned to be held by the end of 2008. The main target groups of the course are IT management and process owners within companies and public organizations.
Nobultec at Sapphire 2008 Berlin - SAP to Create Innovative Business Networks Using IT
Berlin was the venue for this year's Sapphire EMEA conference, bringing together managers and IT professionals from around the world. The following text summarizes some of the main aspects of the event, as experienced firsthand by Nobultec participants in May 2008.
The main theme of the conference was "Business Beyond Boundaries", which refers to the way information technology can be used to blur the traditional business boundaries between an enterprise, its partners, and customers. Such a combination of strategy and IT enables the creation of innovative and efficient business networks, consequently improving the strategic competitiveness of each enterprise in these networks. In this light, the value of SAP's acquisition of Business Objects in 2007 becomes even more apparent. Business networks need current and accurate business intelligence data in order to be able to react quickly and in the right way to new challenges. The acquisition of Business Objects provides SAP with a better position in the BI product market.
From the plethora of presentations and product releases, we would like to cover two products in detail. The first one represents a collaborative effort shared between SAP and IBM and is currently referred to as Project Atlantic. Project Atlantic connects Lotus Notes with a SAP backend, in effect enabling users to manipulate SAP data via the familiar Lotus Notes user interface. For example, users can enter their work hours and manage leave requests directly via Lotus Notes, instead of using a SAP portal. SAP and Microsoft already offer a similar product for Microsoft Office users called Duet.
The second item is not a new product release per se. SAP revealed that the official product name of the solution formerly known as Project Galaxy is SAP NetWeaver BPM. This product aims to provide organizations and business units with tools to design, control, and optimize their business processes. SAP NetWeaver BPM is especially interesting due to its closed loop approach, which aims to cover all phases of process development. With the addition of NetWeaver BPM, SAP's solution offering is extended to covering the execution and monitoring of processes, in addition to process planning and design. To some extent, this solution overlaps with other SAP products. We visited the SAP stand and asked a few developers about the impact of this overlapping on other SAP products, but they could not yet give a definitive answer about the future of any specific products.
One of the main targets of Sapphire was to bring together people that work with SAP products. In this regard, Sapphire passed with flying colors. The first evening event was hosted by SAP Finland. During the pleasant dinner party, we got to discuss Finnish matters with other local actors. The massive Sapphire party, headlined by a performance from Zucchero, took place at the end of the second conference day. Linda Hellstén joins Nobultec
Linda Hellstén has been appointed to Nobultec Ltd as an assistant on May 8th 2008. Linda is studying economics and management in Helsinki School of Economics and she is the first woman to join the Nobultec team.
Kirsi Eräkangas joins Nobultec"s Board of Directors
Kirsi Eräkangas, M.Sc. (Econ.), EMBA, has joined Nobultec's Board of Directors in May 2008. Kirsi has plenty of past experience on board membership. She was also one of the co-founders of the Finnish financial management solution provider Basware, listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 2000.
Chairman of the Board at Nobultec, Hannu Alakangas, is confident that Kirsi will complement Nobultec's current board setup in a great way by bringing in vast industry knowledge, as well as experience on how to manage a software company undergoing rapid and profitable growth: "It is remarkable that we managed to get a person like Kirsi on board to develop our business further. The industry specific competence we needed in our board is now in place. We will still carry on with our search for suitable board member profiles to complete the board competence base."

Nobultec to develop a forms based process development course for SAP Finland
SAP Finland and Nobultec are jointly promoting a training course around forms based process development using the tools provided by SAP. The course is developed and instructed by Nobultec.
The main target groups of the course are IT/SAP management and business process owners. The course will feature all the main tools and technologies provided by SAP for creation and processing of printable and interactive forms. The key content, however, is how these tools can be used in practical process context in the most efficient possible way. The course will also feature clarifying examples of real-life forms based process development cases. The duration of the course is one day.

Eero Knuutila joins Nobultec
Nobultec Ltd has appointed Eero Knuutila as Head of Sales and Marketing on January 14th 2008.
Prior to joining Nobultec, Eero was responsible for radio access network sales in Finland at Oy L M Ericsson Ab. He also has experience in the mobile gaming industry. Eero holds an M.Sc. (Eng.) degree in Industrial Management from the Helsinki University of Technology.
Eero tells about joining Nobultec: "What impressed me in Nobultec were especially the kind or professionalism and strong process thinking that could be seen even from outside of the company. I was also interested in the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-changing environment. I am glad and grateful for having been offered this kind of an opportunity."

Nobultec at SAP Finug fall seminar

Nobultec at SAP TechEd '07
SAP TechEd is an annual event where SAP together with its partners presents the latest SAP technologies and solutions. This year the event was organized in Munich in October. In addition to thousands of other participants, Nobultec was also present in the occasion. The following are our own observations of the event and its main messages in our own area of business.
The main theme of this years event was SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), which SAP naturally promoted heavily. In addition to SOA, to our delight we also observed SAP is bringing in more and more tools to the market which enhance the manageability of processes also outside the system boundaries. Examples of these tools are project "Galaxy" and the enhancements to Guided Procedures to centrally manage different web services.
Another aspect we paid special attention to was that the interest towards SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe was very large and their use will inevitably increase in SAP customer companies. There were several interesting sessions discussing the forms and their integration to SAP also during many other presentations. From Nobultecs point of view it was great to see that an increasing number of companies are starting to see the possibilities, good usability and other benefits of using SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe.
In summary we think the event was a success and it gave us even more faith in the direction we have chosen.

Karri Kemppi joins Nobultec
M.Sc. (Tech) Karri Kemppi has started as a Process consultant at Nobultec Ltd. He has previously worked at Accenture Technology Solutions Ltd as an analyst programmer. Karri will strengthen Nobultec's team especially in SAP Worklow and SAP Basis areas.
Nobultec participates in Global PASMA program
Nobultec Ltd, a specialist in process automation, will take part in the Global PASMA program both as an expert and a pilot company. The purpose of Global PASMA program is to develop a software engineering operating model (a process and quality model) which supports the growth and internationalization of software companies. The operating model will take into account the needs of growing companies and bring in credibility when operating in international markets. A development network including software expert organizations and international partners will be established in the program. This network, together with the pilot companies, will tailor the operating model into a service which fits the requirements of small software businesses. Members of the network include e.g. Umea University, Tieturi, Tekes and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. The Global PASMA operating model built during the program will be documented and published in 2008 in such a way that all participants can apply it according to their needs without limitations of use (Creative Commons license).
Jari Luomala joins Nobultec
Mr. Jari Luomala has started as a Process architect at Nobultec Ltd. He has previously worked at Fifth Element Ltd as a project manager and consultant. Jari's strong experience in different process automation initiatives further strengthens Nobultec's team.
